|
Defense and technology company near Baltimore, MD is seeking an energetic Counsel who can proactively provide legal advice and support and successfully manage, in a multi-tasking environment, a wide variety of legal responsibilities including:
- Providing day-to-day advice to management and operations staff on a full spectrum of contractual and transactional matters, including teaming and strategic alliance agreements, consulting agreements, NDA’s, and related government contracting issues;
- Working with other professionals in the Law and Contracts departments on diverse matters to include: technology licensing, protection of intellectual property, compliance, litigation/disputes, real property, and human resources;
- Providing skilled legal and business advice in support of global sales, business development and operations; and
- In general, lending support to an exciting, sophisticated, fast-paced in-house law department.

REQUIREMENTS |

|
This position will report to the Deputy General Counsel-Operations and will work both independently and with other Law department staff on many sophisticated and challenging legal matters. In particular, the Counsel must possess the following:
- Law degree from an accredited nationally recognized law school;
- At least five (5) years of practice at a nationally or internationally recognized law firm or in-house at a publicly-traded company (preferably some combination of the two);
- Experience with government/defense contractor issues, including the FAR and DFAR, is required;
- Experience with technology/IP transactions, ITAR compliance, government audits, litigation/disputes, real estate and HR matters is a plus;
- The ability to confidently interact with management and operations personnel, and to analyze and translate difficult legal principles into practical business solutions; and
- Energetic, decisive, hands-on personality who can learn quickly, work independently, and influence others while maintaining high levels of integrity and discretion.
